1. Fill out the marriage license form that can be downloaded from this link

2. Both parties need to provide their Michigan ID, along with a copy of their birth certificate. 

3. Only one person is required to go to submit the application in person.

4. Application can only be submitted within 30 days before the wedding, the closer to the wedding date the better in my experience. 

5. Both parties are required to be above the age of 18 years old at time of applying.
